thequietscribe is my tag. I chose it because it reflected the sort of person I am: a writer who is quiet.
I grew up in Kent, found my way to university to study BSc Social Sciences and then rambled through a few other things before studying at Kent University for my MA Creative writing. I wrapped that part of my education up in 2011.
I read a lot and spend most of my time alone, not liking the presence of people as others do. I prefer the company of books and dogs, instead. If I'm not writing, reading or shooting snaps, I'm playing Skyrim or hiding in bed.
Why do I hide in bed? Despite appearances, I've got some unhealthy health problems. I've not been 50% for several years and the best I can do is make small plans, and then execute them one day at a time. Living with chronic, long-term, not-going-to-go-away illness sucks, though it has taught me the value of putting on the breaks and living a slow life. I recommend it.
