I don't write all the time. If I'm not behind a pen or a book, I'm behind the lens, capturing Black and White landscapes and stills.
I focus on specific details when I do a shoot - objects, lines, shadows, shapes. They're things that I notice and my aim is to make them noticeable. My work explores specific themes: isolation, emptiness, the haunted, forgotten places and things. I always find the places that are overlooked or dismissed and find that element in them which speaks to me. I take photos so that viewers can see these things too. I aim to unsettle and leave people double-checking. In December 2013, six of my images were displayed at Nucleus Arts in Chatham, Kent for the Affordable Arts Exhibition. 'Into Darkness' is published in Synaesthesia Magazine's 'Seven Deadly Sins' edition, which can be read free, online. |
